where can your favorite tree be found?
maybe this is as large as a biome, maybe as local as this one backyard in this one suburb.
is it tall? is it wide? what colors do the leaves change? what does the trunk feel like? have you climbed the branches?

I have to find a new favorite
here in the temperate rainforest
there are more than enough, abundance.
verity in the trees that raised me;
sooth in trees that have seen me.
but what trees will welcome?
where can I share a shadow
and call this place home?
hugs encountered…
they can’t feel me, but they endure just the same.
