sometimes what you want photographed is not a thing so much as a feeling.
give me a vibe.
maybe it is three words. a color. a song. a memory. a season you cannot quite leave. something tender, ugly, wet, feral, bright, haunted, ridiculous, becoming. maybe you have a whole little world in mind. maybe you only know you want it to feel like rain after somebody finally said the thing.
from there, i take my camera and go looking.
the finished work is a set of nine edited digital photographs, made in response to what you give me.
a human body is completely optional.
if you want to be part of the photographs, we can wander somewhere together and let you, the place, the weather, light, movement and whatever else appears become the subject.
if you would rather stay entirely outside the frame — or live nowhere near me — that works too. send me the atmosphere and let blueberry interpret it through whatever the world offers.
this is not commercial photography in the sense of perfectly reproducing a shot list. it is co-creation: you bring the invitation; i bring the eye. for clarity’s sake, a vibe study is often remote. a vibe shoot involves us people.

a note on bodies –
human participation is optional. if you want yourself or another person photographed, we will arrange a location and time together. anyone identifiable in the photographs must consent to being photographed.
otherwise, blueberry is perfectly happy wandering off alone with a camera.
honestly, this is often where things get weirdest.
the fine-ish print –
vibe shoots are interpretive. i cannot promise a particular object, weather event, animal, lighting condition or exact image unless we explicitly agree on it beforehand. part of the practice is allowing the world to participate.
turnaround will usually be within one–two weeks after the photographs are taken. weather-dependent commissions may ask for a little patience. weather, unfortunately, has declined employment under blueberry.
unless you opt in to sharing, the finished set stays between us. your images are yours to keep, print, gift and share for personal use. commercial use can be discussed separately. if other identifiable people appear in the photographs, their permission is required before blueberry shares those images publicly too.
no generative ai is used to create or alter the photographic content of your commission. these are photographs made by blueberry, out there in the actual strange world.
vibe studies: payment in full after commission confirmation and before photography begins.
vibe shoots: deposit of 30% required after commission confirmation to reserve our date; full payment due before delivery of the final collection.
in-person shoots will range from 60-90 minutes depending on present conditions.
vibe shoots (in-person) are currently available in the olympia area. farther wandering may be possible, with travel discussed beforehand.
