scroll through and write what calls to you
#1 [7.27.26]
what color would you write as inviting?
maybe a feeling or a memory, a kind smile, or even why this color welcomes when an other won’t.
take a few minutes to notice this color around you; listen for that first word that fits just enough to welcome others in.
#2 [8.2.26]
how does warmth work?
sure there’s a scientific answer, and yet wouldn’t it be fun if all that official stuffs…didn’t matter? maybe only a few words, maybe stanzas galore, inspired by that undeniable toasty or roasty essence.
close your eyes for as long as feels comfortable; where does warmness reach? let it start talking to you, and go from there…
#3 [8.9.26]
when do you know it’s night?
maybe it’s numbers on a clock or a sun set well below the horizon. perhaps it’s vibe and nothing more or less!
ask your body these questions, and start to see what words you feel beckoning.

every decade, a new chapter if you will.
what would you say to yours, one at a time in one whole workpiece?
round up, round down, or just meet this year as right here.
start small, maybe it was a summer that really stood out. maybe it was this particular first day of school.
gradually allow yourself, and your words, to zoom out to the whole of 10 years. start at the scale that fits your feelings best.

where have you seen the flowers dance?
maybe a field in the middle of nothing. maybe a sidewalk crack just big enough for the plant to move. perhaps it’s in your favorite garden.
for those who can, go on a short walk and literally smell the roses, hyacinths or cherry blossoms. or, find a series of flower photos to notice color and shape. the words will come, i promise.
